HOW IT WORKS: Usually taking place over a full day to cover the whole school (sometimes 2 days depending on numbers). The workshops are broken up into 30 min (reception/Yr1), 50 min (Yr1/2) and 1 hour (3/4/5/6/7/8/9) sessions. The sessions are totally interactive. We use innovative games and exercises to explore music. We also use whatever school percussion is available. Showing students world rhythms we explain how they are played and what they are called. (We encourage year's 5/6/7/8/9 to bring their own instruments if they play).

- 2 professional musicians come to the school to run the workshops; a bassist/guitarist. (We bring electric guitars and a drum kit!)

- In the World Music programs we can offer African and Latin Rhythms & customisations to offer other World Styles if required (such as Reggae, Indian, etc).

- We demonstrate and teach contemporary music. The workshops are interactive and all students are involved in all aspects of them.

- The program uses body rhythms, voice, dance, World rhythms, imagination, improvisation, African/Latin Song.

- The students learn about a drum kit and get involved in how to play it, learn a contemporary song, and are taught a dance to accompany it.
