"This is contemporary music of substance: these musicians are highly skilled and totally dedicated to their group sound and the leader's conception of it. It is funky, groove music, but certainly not lightweight. The overall effect of all these tracks is of a probing, integrated band forging their own modern approach to jazz". - Jazz Journal
